The Civil Side: How do Autodesk Civil 3D and BIM Relate?

BIM is a "buzzword" in the architecture, engineering and construction industry. While the concept of BIM did come from the building design industry, it can also relate to civil engineers in many ways. Read more.

Being Civil – A new Autodesk Civil 3D blog

Autodesk Product Support has started a new blog for Autodesk Civil 3D users. The intent is to complement some of the other great blogs out there by providing a "Voice of the Customer" perspective. Check it out at http://beingcivil.typepad.com and spread the word around.

U.K. Study Reveals Recession Won't Thwart Demand for Greener Buildings

The first Autodesk / Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Green Index revealed that clients want greener buildings for long-term cost savings, even in a recessionary climate. This contradicts the popular belief that when money is scarce, clients are more worried about initial costs than long-term savings and are not so concerned about their environmental credentials.

Tip 2: Creating a Room Occupancy Tag in Revit Architecture

Are you a designer using Revit® Architecture like it’s the next version of AutoCAD by drawing drafting lines and text to an egress view for occupancy loads? Do you want the occupancy load tag attached to the room? Do you want to schedule the occupancy data in your room schedule? This tutorial will guide you in creating an occupancy load tag that will be parametric and make an aspect of your design life a bit easier.
