General News
Green Building and Sustainable Design: Singapore Government Leading the Pack
The Singapore government’s Building and Construction Authority is pushing ahead with its green building rating system to evaluate buildings for their environmental impact and performance. Wider adoption of the standard will see more new buildings in the city state having lower energy signatures and lower maintenance costs in the long run.
AutoCAD Architecture: New Features Webcast
Our live webcast offers architects, designers and drafters a greater understanding of the new features and tools included in AutoCAD® Architecture (formerly Autodesk Architectural Desktop). This purpose-built solution is simple to implement and use, which means immediate increases in productivity and accuracy. Discover how easily you can leverage visualisation to bring client presentations to life!
How BIM and Sustainable Design Work Together
Engineers, architects and designers are beginning to see sustainable design as a natural fit to BIM because of the possibility of inventorying data using measurable outcomes for lifecycle costs or building energy performance. There exists a natural fit for the two to go together and architectural firms around the world like HIP are already starting to put this into practice in recent projects.

BCA Academy – Autodesk Seminar : Leading Lights in the Realm of Sustainability – Strategies in Design and Construction 2007
Date: 25 June 2007
Venue: Meritus Mandarin Hotel, Singapore
Sustainability provides the building industry with the triple bottom line of profitability, social responsibility, and respect for the environment - helping firms cut costs and reduce their reliance on limited raw materials via eco-efficiency; creating new market opportunities with new and emerging expectations from customers; and improving corporate images and brand values.
This BCA Academy-Autodesk Seminar gave participants an insight into the best practices and experiences of companies that have benefited from sustainability, as well as showcased landmark Green projects that promise to change the cityscape, and the way we build buildings in time to come.
Also on hand were eminent speakers Philip Bernstein, VP Building Industry Strategy & Relations, Autodesk as well as Craig Price, Technical Director, Beca Gourp Ltd who spoke on Predicting the Outcome of Building Design through BIM and Adopting an Environmentally Sustainable Design Approach for Green Buildings respectively.
