2004 came to a very exciting close when Autodesk was listed in the NASDAQ-100 Index on Dec 20. We were so proud of this, and it's thanks to the continued support of all our customers around the world. USA Press Release
Another exciting milestone for us was the huge increase in the use of Autodesk DWF Viewer, with downloads reaching an incredible 4.5 million as of November 2004. We are very encouraged by this widespread adoption of DWF for sharing and distributing design data.
And 2005 got off to a great start with the visit of our Chairman, CEO and President, Ms Carol Bartz, to India. Carol visited customers, met up with press and ministers during her fruitful 4 day trip to Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi.

Tips & Tricks
Getting the best performance from your computer.
Manoj Pandit - MSD Application Sales Engineer, Autodesk Australia
Tip 1:
Set the size of the "Paging file" (swap space) to twice of the size of the RAM on your computer.
To do this on Windows 2000 or XP: go to settings > system properties > performance options - virtual memory change. It is recommended not to have a big difference between the initial & maximum RAM size.
Tip 2
Regularly delete all files from your temp folder. Your temp folder is in "C:\Documents and Settings\"your login"\Local Settings\" ("your login" is the login that you use to log in to your computer). Note: If your temp folder is hidden you will need to enable the hidden files option from tools > folder options to see this folder. I have seen some temp folders with more than 2 GB of junk files.
Tip 3
Have sufficient disk space free on the drive where you install the OS. Have at least 500MB free disk space on this drive, generally your C drive. Remember to defragment your HDD regularly.
If you have a good tip to share with our readers, please email KeepInTouch@autodesk.com.
